For the second year running, cricket mad family-firm Pendle Hill Properties have presented all Year 2 children in the local area with a special cricket bat and a selection box.
Lucky pupils from Read St John’s, Sabden Primary, Sabden St Mary’s, Simonstone St Peter’s and Altham St James all received a bat from East Lancashire’s leading estate and lettings agency, as well as a soft cricket ball, a form to join Read Raiders Cricket Club and a selection box sponsored by Studio.
Read Raiders Cricket Club received a huge uplift in new players this year following on from last year’s giveaway, which saw 120 children invited back to join the Club.
Andrew Turner, Managing Director of Pendle Hill Properties, said: “The joy which we saw on the children’s faces last year was a sight to behold, and the whole team here was extremely keen to do the cricket bat giveaway again in 2021.
“There has been a phenomenal uplift in youngsters joining Read Raiders this year following the giveaway and we are looking forward to welcoming even more new members in 2022.”
The Year 2 children were presented with their cricket bats and goodie bags by Sophia Turner from Pendle Hill Properties, who is also a semi-professional cricket player for Thunder Cricket (NW) and Lancashire Women, as well as a graduate from Read Cricket Club herself.
Ms Turner said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure going into all the different schools and seeing how many of these young children are actually interested in playing cricket or already do.
“The selection boxes went down very well and to see so many happy, smiley faces was extremely rewarding.”
Pendle Hill Properties is a family-run estate agency based in Read, providing a specialist residential property sales and rentals service across the Ribble Valley, Burnley and Pendle areas.
