Longridge starts Christmas with a fun high street event

Events are a great way to bring all the community together, and Longridge residents love to get together and enjoy each other’s company. Christmas is no exception, and Love Longridge organised a “Longridge Does Christmas” late night shopping event, to get everyone in the festive cheer.

To celebrate their first Christmas on the high street in Longridge, Pendle Hill Properties joined in the fun by providing a selfie frame for festive pictures, and giving away 200 advent calendars on the night from their shop at 74 Berry Lane, right in the heart of the action!

The event started with Santa arriving on a very fancy red lorry, cheered by the crowds as he made his way to his grotto to meet some very excited children. Lots of local school choirs and dance troupes performed for the crowds, with a special performance by Geno Eccles.

There were bouncy castles, carol singing, food from local outlets including The Striped Pig, the lighting up of the tree, a snow machine, and of course the chance to meet Santa himself in his grotto. An estimated 4,000 people came out to celebrate together and show their support for Longridge by shopping on the high street in their local independents.

Thomas Turner, Sales Director of Pendle Hill Properties said: “As a Longridge resident myself I love seeing everyone come out to support local events, and local retailers. We’re really pleased to be on Berry Lane, and we had such a good time giving out advent calendars to very excited children!”
