Pendle Hill Properties competition winner crowned after easter fun in Padiham

The winner of the egg-stremely popular Pendle Hill Properties #ShopLocal Easter competition in Padiham has been crowned, with over 260 egg-cellent entries received.

Over the Easter weekend and holidays, U12s were invited to colour in an Easter egg design before handing in their entry to one of 12 participating shops in Padiham town centre.

With the competition also encouraging people to #ShopLocal, each of the shops had 20 Easter eggs to giveaway to those taking part courtesy of sponsors Pendle Hill Properties.

An incredible number of entries were received from local school children, with the Mayor of Padiham, Cllr Peter Haigh, and Mayoress Jackie Haigh, left with the tough job of picking a winner.

After looking through the hundreds of entries, Jannah, aged 11 from Lowerhouse Junior School was selected as the winner of an Easter bunny and a giant Easter egg.

Toby Burrows, Rental Director at Pendle Hill Properties, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Padiham community coming together to support our Easter #ShopLocal competition.

“From the creativity showcased by the children to the engagement with local shops, the competition has been a great success and we can’t thank everyone enough for taking part.”

Carol Broadbelt, Owner of The Hardware Store in Padiham, said: “We just want to say thank you to Pendle Hill Properties for running this fantastic Easter colouring competition, the kids have really enjoyed it and it has been so much fun looking at all their different pieces of artwork.”

Cllr Peter Haigh, Mayor of Padiham, said: “I am very proud to have been asked to judge the Easter competition here in Padiham. There has been so many amazing entries and well done to everyone who took part, you all did a great job.
